Three new European wide Leader Focus Groups

26 Jan 2010

The European Network for Rural Development is supporting the development of three new European wide Leader Focus Groups

These voluntary focus groups have been established to look at the bottlenecks and issues in the current implementation of the Leader approach within the Rural Development Programmes 2007-2013.  Separate focus groups have been created around three issues and are each being led by different Member States:

i)        Implementation of the bottom up principle: decision-making process and mainstreaming issues (Lead by Italy and ELARD);

ii)       Preserving the innovation/experimental character of Leader: difficulties identified and relevant practices (Lead by Netherlands and Germany);

iii)     Implementation of the 'co-operation' measure: key bottlenecks and solutions (Lead by Estonia and Finland).
