Study Visit for a Spanish Local Action Group to the UK

A Spanish Local Action Group from the Basque region is interested in visiting a Local Action Group in the United Kingdom.

From the Basque Local Action Group MENDINET in Spain. The LAG is the only LAG in the region, and have managed the previous LEADER + programme and are currently managing the new Leader axis under the new Rural Development Programme for 2007-2013. They are an Association integrated by 18 rural development associations and a public enterprise called IMK, funded by the Environment, Land Planning, Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry of the Basque Government.
 
The LAG is intrested in projects under the following areas:

• lifelong learning courses for the agricultural sector via ICTs;
• developemnt of new products;
• diversification;
• setting up and development of microenterprises;
• fostering tourism activities;
• basic services for local communities implemented by ICTs; and
• training for economic agents. 

The LAG would like to organise a study visit to the UK in order to provide our board with the chance to get to know the implementation of the Leader method in your country and pay some visits to different Local Action Groups and the projects they are promoting.
