10 December 2009 (7th meeting) - Brussels, Belgium

This meeting focused on four thematic initiatives being developed between the National Rural Networks, good practice, social farming, forestry and rural entrepreneurship.  Rebecca Frost represented the UK NRN at this event.

16 September 2009 (6th meeting) - Budapest, Hungary

This meeting focused on communication strategies and tools and James Elliott of the RDPE Network represented the UK NRN at this event. Angela Wiseman of the Scottish National Rural Network presented the Scottish Network strategy.

8 June 2009 (5th meeting) - Seville, Spain

This meeting focused on transnational cooperation under the Leader axis and Nia Griffiths of the Wales Rural Network represented the UK NRN at this event.

29 April 2009 (4th meeting) - Brussels, Belgium

This meeting consisted of an introduction to the European Expert Network and its services and also an introduction to approaches to "good practice".

1 April 2009 (3rd meeting) - Brussels, Belgium

The UK NRN was represented by a Scottish Local Action Group at the 3rd meeting of the EN RD. In the morning there were a number of themed workshops, based on topics identified by the National Support Units (NSUs) at the Coordination Committee's "Building Capacity" seminar the previous month. There was a speed-dating style exercise in the afternoon, designed to identify possible areas of collaboration between NSUs.

13 February 2009 (2nd meeting) - Prague, Czech Repulic

Anna Murray of the Scotland National Rural Network attended this meeting on behalf of the UK NRN. Under discussion was how the national rural networks could engage the wider rural community, with particular emphasis on active integration of axes 1 and 2. The meeting was also used to provide preparation for the EN RD's first seminar on capacity building scheduled for 30-31 March 2009.

27 November 2008 (1st meeting) - Brussels, Belgium

The UK NRN was represented by a Northern Irish Local Action Group at this meeting. It was organised by the EN RD Contact Point who were keen to learn about the challenges and issues facing the national rural networks and what their needs and expectations of the EN RD were. The agenda was designed to also help with addressing specific areas of the first year's work programme.
